Out on the Liffey...

What a weekend. Mark (Glinda) and my good self had a lovely weekend in Dublin at the expense of Air France! Business class flight - 5* Hotel, 3 Course meals, Enough free drink to even fill me up, Riverdancing, Irish Coffees, cakes, Fit Aussie Sales Managers (straight mores the pity), Glinda getting drunk, nasty, and staring at mens nether regions! etc etc etc

We had a FABBY weekend, Irish people are so so friendly and Dublin is a lovely city - Like England but a bit different! And the best thing is that it's only a 40 odd minute flight from London city (Which is about ten mins from us on the bus), so we were home by 5:30 - I ironed a Tee Shirt and jumped straight on the bus for the Tavern, which was good fun for the few hours I was there, I then went to bar code and G-A-Y and caught up with some old acquantances (Hey to Dave and Mario!)

Starting to househunt in earnest this week - eek no fun! But it needs to be done :(

Looking forward to the weekend. Well Monday actually as it's Payday!

She's leaving home Bye Bye...

Figured I could do with a Beatles reference somewhere. God I need to try and find time to update this more often.

Anyhooo unfortunate news this week. Ian (the guy that is my landlord and who's room I rented when he went on his world trip) is coming home early - due to circumstances beyond control. So Lil ole me is gonna have to find somewhere else to move to - eek!

I found out on Saturday and promptly burst into tears on the Central line, Very high drama! I mean I have until after Christmas, but I want to get it sorted as soon as possible. So this week it was with much wearyness that I started flat hunting. (if you know what I went through in the place I lived before I moved in with Mark you'll know why I'm dreading the task!) So no more living with Glinda, which is poo. :(

However you can't keep a good dog down! So I'm hard at it, other possibilities are moving into a house with Sue Ellen (however having looked at the price of 2 bed houses/flats I'm not entirely optimistic, unless we rent a cardboard box at Charing Cross). Also the lovely Bretton has his house to rent when he finally buggers off to NYC, so an Upton Park Des Res is a possibility! Otherwise I'll be in Charing cross with a bottle of cheap cider and a dog in my coat - oh hang on thats my usual saturday night anyway :)

Anyone stumbling across this that has a room to rent please let me know, preferably within the M25 mind, I want to be able to get a Nightbus home from G-A-Y! (I've out an ad on loads of sites stating zones 1-3, preferably East or South London and you get loads of emails saying "Hi, I have a room to rent in Zone 6 North West London". I had one that lived in Brum - Bit of a commute!)

In Other matters...

Am off to Dublin this weekend. Glinda is taking me as a +1 on her 'educational' there for work. (Read:5* Hotel, Business class flights, free food and drink all weekend! It's a bad life) :)
Am really looking forward as I do like Dublin very much since I went for my brothers 21st this year.

Not a lot else going on really...

Bonne Anniversaire Numero Deux

Following hot on the heels of my being in London for a year - I've been in my job for exactly 1 year today - My doesn't time fly when you're working for an honest living, while eating Pret out of their stash of Brie, Basil and Tomato baguettes? A full year working in the City, althouugh we're at the hip trendy Clerkenwell end rather than part of the Red Brace brigade...

Other hot news this week includes the unexpected trip to DUBLIN next Saturday - some business excursion of Glinda (all free!). With a 5* hotel and business class flights and everything. Apparently I've got to be on my best behaviour - It's not my fault the Guinness and Smithwicks drinkies over there are so tasty is it. Plus there's a whisky distillery on the itinery...

Sunday went for a few quiet (!) drinkies with Ms Holding. Cue our re-enactment of the video for 'I Know Him So Well' on the travelators at london bridge station - we left our fur stoals and shoulderpads in mothballs alas!

Trying to stave off this damn cold that's attempting to get a grip on me as well - Lemon and Ginger tea with (proper manuka) Honey seems to be helping! My mother would reccommend a hot toddie - although it'd probably turn into whisky glaore knowing me!
